Possession des Habsbourg du 13ème au 16ème. Appartenait depuis 1454 à Vieux-Brisach (Bade), qui le vendit aux Waldner en 1756. Biesheim et l'ancien village médiéval d'Oedenburg furent détruits en 1638 par les Suédois. Oedenburg, le vicus romain succéda à un village gaulois. Synagogue détruite en 1726, parce que bâtie sans autorisation. Cité martyre en 1945 (75 % de sinistrés).
